C’mon guys don’t discriminate us just because we are ex-convicts. I felt very sad that a potential customer left a negative review on our business page saying she will never visit my ramen stall because we created a website that promotes anti-government news and that we don’t appreciate what the PAP has done for Singapore. She even tagged her friends and encourage her friends to boycott my business too.

I would like to sincerely apologise for what we have done in the past and we will never offend the PAP government ever again. All we wanted in the past was to create a news website that promotes free speech in Singapore because we sincerely believe that is what is lacking in Singapore. But we now realise that this type of business model is a very tricky and difficult one.

It is this kind of social stigma, that causes many ex-convicts to remain unemployed and unable to start a new life with their family. The constant discrimination will also lead to many of us re-offending our crimes once we are out of prison.

We hope to turn over a new leaf and start afresh now. I humbly ask that you do not judge people for what they have done wrong in the past especially when they have already been punished for it. You don’t know what it took for someone to get out of bed, look and feel presentable as possible and face the day. You never truly know the daily struggles of other.
