The fare cheat gained infamy in social media after Facebook user David Phang posted about her exploit following a taxi ride from Clifford Centre to Tanjong Rhu where she promptly disappeared into a condo without paying the fare using the excuse that the driver had taken a long route.

Based on her LinkedIn profile, the fare cheat goes by the name of Payal Devgan and currently works in Swiss private bank Julius Baer as an Executive Director.

A banker of her position typically draws more than S$10k per month. It’s a mystery why she has to cheat a taxi driver who earns less than one fifth of her salary of his hard earned cash.

Update: Payal Devgan has removed her LinkedIn Profile photo as of this morning – probably out of shame and embarrassment for her actions.
