On 7/6/2017 the “brain” behind Singapore’s biggest ever forged casino chip rip-off was imprisoned for seven years and four months.

The case tangled 1,291 forged chips, each with a face worth of $1,000, and they were swap over for money at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino between the sunset of Nov 22 and the early dawn periods of Nov 23, 2015.

As an effect, MBS was hit wth a loss of $1,291,000.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Asoka Markandu alleged the “brain” – Toh Hock Thiam, now 55 – was only openly accountable for 420 forged chips.
